Why is the sky blue? Why is there a sky? Why can't we touch the sky?
3 questions all requiring different resources to answer
Why is the sky blue? this is a reasearch question to explain what has been done.
Why is there a sky? This is a question that requires a belief, backed up by evidence to support that belief. An answer that will cause debates for hours on end, then there is an actionable question of why can't we touch it? Well, can we? literally? metaphorically?
I decided to lay the foundation of the questions we ask because not every question has an answer, and some questions require a foundation of beliefs gained through life's questioning. Anywho here are some questions I am asking myself ot help guide my capstone project and guide the trajectory of my lifes work of Youth Development.

Research begins with questions, curiosities, and wonderings. What do you wonder about in relation to your professional life? What questions do you have about things you care about in the world? What burning questions do you want to figure out in your work space? Something that is working (and why)? Something that is not working (and why)? Something you want to figure out… For this first blog post, make a list: an actual list of at least 20 questions that you genuinely would like to know the answer to that could inspire your YDEV capstone.
I love how you started your questions! Why is the sky blue? I connected with some of your questions, and hope that through this course we can have some conversations about our own opinions & experiences that lead to better understanding not necessarily answers.

ReplyDeleteThese are such great questions! Number 15 is my favorite, because same. Questions 17 though? Definitely would make a great capstone project and you could talk about so many points within it!
ReplyDeleteOmg Daeshawn, the way you began your blogpost was too good! So were your questions! I would insert a lot of love, got-me-thinking, and mind-blown emojis here if I were on my phone but the few that stood out to me the most were #4, #6, #7, #12, #16, #17, #19... I swear just about all of them did! LOL clearly there are too many good ones for me to know where to begin or narrow down favorites but WOW, I am certainly looking forward to being even the tiniest part of your capstone/YDEV journey!
